<p>Simon Oldfield is pleased to present Neal Tait’s first solo exhibition at the gallery, <em>The Battle for Middle You.  </em><em> </em></p>
<p>The relationship in Tait’s work between the real and the imagined is elusive; an unresolved entanglement.  Figuration and abstraction fuse at the intersection of symbolism and realism; presenting an enchantment of mesmeric paintings. <em> </em></p>
<p>Tait (born 1965), lives and works in London.  Tait has exhibited extensively in the UK and internationally including the <em>Watercolour </em>exhibition at Tate Britain (2011), Modern Love, Simon Oldfield, (2010), <em>Les Toits de Parise</em>, White Cube, solo (2009), <em>Works on paper</em>, ACME, Los Angeles, solo (2008) <em>Neal Tait: The Dressmaker Who Lived on the Outskirts</em>, Tanya Bonakdar Gallery, New York solo (2008).</p>
<p> Opening 18 April 2012, 6.30-8.30pm.  Exhibition continues until 26 May 2012.</p>
